Southwestern Athletics Announces Indoor Spectator Protocol

Beginning February 15, ICCAC institutions will have the discretion to allow a limited number of fans to attend indoor athletic contests. The first home contest this will impact in Creston, Iowa is on February 20th.

The protocol for Southwestern will be:

  • Each player, manager, and student-athlete competing in that event will be allowed up to four (4) passes to each event. The pass list must be submitted via the proper protocol one day (24 hours) in advance of the contest.
  • All listed spectators are encouraged to enter the Student Center through the East-facing upstairs doors, make their way down the stairs, and enter the gymnasium from the South where the athletics department will have a representative ensuring the right people are entering.
  • All listed spectators are encourages to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to contest start.
  • All spectators will be seated in the South bleachers, opposite of the players and the scoring table.
  • No individual will sit in the first three rows of bleachers (unless medically required).
  • Masks are required while inside the facility. Social distancing, outside of same-household families, is highly encouraged.
  • After each contest, spectators will be asked to exit the athletic facility after both home and visiting teams have left the floor. Congregation is discouraged.

 

This allowance will be reviewed by ICCAC leadership again on March 1st.
