Southwestern Dazzlers gain two Creston recruits

Two Creston High School seniors have made it official, signing with the Southwestern Community College Dazzlers dance team for the 2018-19 season.

Cassity Conley and Kiersten Latham, both slated for high school graduation in May, signed with Southwestern Dazzlers Head Coach Kaeleigh Ballentine on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018.

Both student-athletes competed on the Creston Peppers dance team during high school, earning state titles in the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association's (ISDTA) Team Championships more than once.

Conley has been a three-year letter winner in dance during her high school career. In addition, she participated in volleyball and softball for two years. She competed in the ISDTA's state solo contest in November 2018. In addition to her athletic achievements, Conley has repeatedly been named to the honor roll, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has lettered academically for three years. She has taken classes and competed through Leslie's Dance Emporium in Creston for a number of years.

She is the daughter of Branden Conley of Creston.

Latham is a four-year letter winner in dance, track, and softball. She qualified for state track two years and was on the softball team both years they qualified for state as well. She competed at state in the ISDTA's state solo contest in November 2018 and was a member of the All-Iowa Drill Team, performing at the state basketball tournament two years. In addition, Latham has been named to the honor roll.

She is the daughter of Cory and Tammi Latham of Creston.
