Creston's Ashton Carter has signed with Southwestern Community College's dance team for their 2018-19 season making her a two-sport student-athlete at Southwestern. Just weeks ago, Carter signed with Southwestern's golf team for next year as well.

Carter, who will graduate from Creston High School in May, competed on the Creston Peppers dance team during high school, earning state titles in the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association's (ISDTA) Team Championships more than once. She danced for the Spotlight School of Dance in Creston for 12 years.

In addition, Carter qualified for state golf her sophomore and junior years as an individual and with her team. In 2016, she placed 11th individually and in 2017 she placed seventh. In addition to golf and dance, Carter has lettered in wrestling cheer and football cheer. Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll all four years of high school.

Carter is the daughter of Rick Carter and Michelle Mostek of Creston.
