The Southwestern Spartan men's golf team competed in a triangular tournament against York College and Central Community College in Columbus, NE, on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017.
The Spartans found success early, but finished second of the three teams, beating Central Community College.
"We were solid through 13 holes today," said Spartan Head Coach Doug North. "We didn't finish well, but we are a young team. This was a great learning experience to shake some nerves off."
The Spartans were very consistent in scoring but missed out on any one golfer playing extremely well. Led by freshman Oliver Pearson's second place finish, the Spartans shot a 314, behind York College's 312, and ahead of Central's 319.
