October 2, 2024 - Plymouth, IN — The Spartan golf team competed in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Preview at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, finishing 13th overall in a field of competitive junior college teams from across the country.
After a promising start on Day 1, the Spartans posted a team score of 305, placing them in 9th position. However, Day 2 proved to be a challenge, as the team struggled to find their rhythm, recording a score of 317, which resulted in a 13th-place finish.
Leading the Spartans was Alexander Cordrey, who posted consistent rounds of 74 and 75 to finish tied for 24th place individually. Elliot Lorentzon followed closely, shooting 75 on the first day and 78 on the second, finishing tied for 38th.
Other notable scores for the Spartans include Freddie Muggeridge (81-77, 62nd place), Sofus Lyck (75-87, tied 75th), Evan Powell (78-84, tied 75th), and Kamron Brownlee (86-87, 91st place).
Despite the setback on Day 2, the Spartans remain focused and determined as they continue to build on their experience ahead of the upcoming season.
