KANSAS CITY - Southwestern Head Track and Field Coach Trey Bruton recently announced the addition of four student-athletes from Hogan Preparatory High School in Kansas City.

Marquez Jenkins, Greg Preston, Aubree Burnett and Brandon Thompson all signed National Letters of Intent to join the Spartan track and field program earlier this month.

Preston is a sprinter who will compete in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash for the Spartans.

Jenkins will throw shot put, hammer, javelin and discus for the Spartans. He recently placed third in Missouri's Class 4A discus competition with his throw of 151-1 to earn all-state honors. That throw would best the current Southwestern school record.

Thompson will also throw shot put, hammer, javelin and discus for Southwestern. Thompson owns a career-best throw of 48-1.50 with a 12-pound shot put.

Burnett will throw shot put, hammer, javelin and discus for the Spartan women. She has thrown the shot put 37-2.50, which would top the current Southwestern school record.
