Creston, IA—With a 2A state championship, a conference championship, and a trip to the regional semi-finals under her belt all before her senior season, Van Meter High School's Bailey Harding knows competitive high school softball. Harding confirmed the continuation of her softball career at the collegiate level when she inked with the Southwestern Community College softball team late last week.

Head Southwestern Softball Coach Nick Weinmeister confirmed Harding has been an impact player for one of the top high school programs in the state.

"I am excited to add a player like Bailey to our recruiting class because she knows how to win," Weinmeister stated. "She has played with and against great competition and will fill an area of need for us at pitcher and middle infielder."

Harding is a four-year varsity starter and letter winner for the Van Meter Bulldogs. She finished her junior year with a .533 batting average. Harding has played for club teams including the Central Iowa Velocity, who finished second in the state at 15U and were ranked fourth nationally in 2016, finishing fourth in the state in 2017. She played for the Venomous Vixens (2015) and the Barbie Bashers (2013-14) as well.

During high school, Harding also competed on the track team. She enjoys spending time with her family on the lake and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, and fishing.

She is the daughter of Chris Harding of Van Meter and Nikki Harding of Winterset.
