West Harrison standout signs as a Spartan

Haley Koch signs her National Letter of Intent to join the Southwestern softball team.

Southwestern Community College Head Softball Coach Casey-May Huff announced Haley Koch, a shortstop and catcher from Mondamin, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Southwestern Spartans next year.

Koch graduated from West Harrison High School in May 2021. At West Harrison, Koch was awarded second-team Rolling Valley All-Conference in 2018, first-team All-Western Iowa and first-team Rolling Valley All-Conference in 2019, and first-team Rolling Valley All-Conference in 2020.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Haley to our 2021 class," said Nick Weinmeister, former head softball coach and current athletic director. "I anticipate Haley to come in and make a huge impact right away. Haley is a game changer for us and we are looking forward to working with her."

Koch is the daughter of Jason and Dana Koch of Mondamin.
