Creston, IOWA—Ottumwa sports shooter Abe Parker has committed to the Spartans of Southwestern Community College starting with the spring 2019 semester.
Spartan Head Coach Marc Roberg said he is impressed with Parker's abilities.
"I've seen Abe shoot several times and he is a good shooter," said Roberg. "He has the potential to be an excellent collegiate shooter for our program."
Roberg said Parker is attending basic training for the Iowa National Guard during the fall semester, so he will join the Spartans for their spring 2019 run.
During high school, Parker participated in cross country and trap team.
He is the son of Rusty Parker of Ottumwa.
