More School Records Fall at BVU

The Southwestern lady Spartans had another strong showing at the Dennis Young Invite, hosted at Buena Vista University. Elenani Tinai had a strong showing winning the Long Jump competition and taking 2nd in the 60m dash tying the previous school record of 7.92 seconds. The quartet of Tinai, Hoffman, Costain, and Sauvakacolo smashed the school record in the 4x200m running a time of 1:53.65 besting the previous record by 4 seconds. The throwing events were highlighted by Aubree' Burnett qualifying for finals in the shotput where she finished in 7th place.

Head Coach of the lady Spartans had this to say about the meet, "our ladies really preformed at a high level today, any time you are taking down more school records its a positive thing. Since we don't really have an off week this year indoor we went in knowing we were going to focus in a few areas to improve and not over do things, and I think we really excelled in those areas we were focusing on."

The Spartans are back in action Friday and Saturday February, 7th and 8th at Northwest Missouri State University in Marryville, MO.
