CRESTON, Iowa—Southwestern Community College Head Volleyball Coach Casey Quiggle picked up a 5-foot, 9-inch middle hitter from Johnston High School late last week. Hanna Gray, currently a senior at Johnston High School, signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Spartans next season.

Quiggle can't wait to see all Gray brings to the front row next fall.

"Hanna is going to help our middle core and front row overall," Quiggle explained. "She has a strong block and moves quickly ensuring the block closes. She sees the court well and has a good volleyball IQ."

Gray excels in track and field, as well as volleyball. She plans to continue her track and field career at Southwestern as well.

During high school, she received varsity letters in both sports and received the team-first award in track three years in a row. She received an all-academic award her junior and senior years.

She is the daughter of Melissa Gray of Des Moines.
