The Southwestern Spartans Dance Team exhibited outstanding performances at the Dance Team Union College Classic National Championship, securing impressive rankings and showcasing their dedication and skill on the national stage.

Under the guidance of Coach Paige Russo, the Spartans competed fiercely, earning remarkable placements in multiple categories. The team secured a remarkable 3rd place in the nation in both Open Jazz and Open Hip Hop, highlighting their versatility and proficiency across different styles. Additionally, they demonstrated their excellence in Open Pom, clinching a commendable 4th place in the nation.

Key performers for the Spartans included every member of the team, who showcased resilience and determination throughout the competition. Despite facing challenges and setbacks, the Spartans remained steadfast in their pursuit of excellence. Coach Paige Russo expressed her admiration for the team's unwavering commitment, stating, "From day one of the season, this team has faced battles and struggles but yet that never slowed them down."

The Spartans' dedication to improvement was evident as they utilized judges' critiques to refine their routines and elevate their performances for the finals. This strategic approach resulted in higher scores and propelled the team to achieve historic placements in the program's history.

Reflecting on the season, Coach Russo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent Southwestern Community College and conveyed excitement for the future, stating, "We once again are blessed and grateful to represent Southwestern Community College each season and look forward to competing next year at nationals again."

In addition to their competitive success, the Spartans remain focused on growth and are actively recruiting for the 2024-25 season. Prospective dancers are encouraged to join the Spartan family and contribute to the legacy of excellence established by the team.
