Isabelle Gaul becomes most recent dance recruit at Southwestern

Creston, IA—Isabelle Gaul of Harlan became Southwestern Community College’s most recent dance recruit for the 2024-25 season earlier this week, according to Southwestern Head Dance Coach Paige Russo.

Gaul is a senior at Harlan High School. She and her teams have received a number of honors during high school, including third, fourth, and fifth place finishes at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association championships; 2023 Grand National Champion Group Jazz at Bravo Competition; 2023 Runner-Up Solo Grand Champion at Bravo Nationals; six top three placings with solos; and four-first place group dances in 2023.

In addition to her dance endeavors, Gaul has exceled academically as a member of National Honor Society and HOSA, a student organization for future health professionals. She is currently serving as the HOSA president.

Russo said Gaul’s talent will be a wonderful asset to the team.

“Isabelle is an amazing person and student-athlete,” Russo said. “She creates so much energy for her team! We are looking forward to her bringing all her attributes to Southwestern!”

Gaul is the daughter of Erin and Jason Gaul of Harlan.
