SWCC's bass fishing team competed this past weekend at the inaugural Mid-Northern College Bass Coalition Tournament in Okoboji.

The tournament featured 21 teams from Minnesota, Illinois, Nebraska, and Iowa.

Head Coach Cory Dorsey said the tournament had tough conditions with cold water and wind, but thought his team did a great job of finding solid patterns in Friday's practice round that carried over into Saturday's competition.

"The team of Cooper Jipsen and Logan Eilts filled its five-fish limit early and were able to cull a few fish," Dorsey said. Jipsen and Eilts weighed in a limit of fish at 13.93 pounds.

The team of Joey Oathoudt and Cole Sorensen weighed in three keepers at just under 8 pounds.

"The cold and rainy weather changed throughout the day, and both teams struggled to increase their limits as the treacherous wind came on," Dorsey said.
