Spartans bounce back against Iowa Central

The Southwestern Community College men knocked down 18 3-pointers en route to a 104-97 home win over Iowa Central Community College Monday, Feb. 4, in the Student Center gymnasium.

As a team, the Spartans shot 51.4 percent (18-35) from behind the arc and 58.7 percent from the field for the game.

Sophomore Gatdoar Kueth led the Spartans in scoring with 24 points to go with six rebounds. Jordan Doss recorded 23 points, shooting 7 of 9 from behind the arc, with five rebounds. Willshon Warren added 20 points on 5 of 7 shooting from 3-point land. Chad Moran finished with 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Ryan Warren and Trevonte Diggs finished with 10 points apiece, giving the Spartans six players scoring in double figures. Ryan Warren dished out a team-high eight assists.

The Spartans improved to 13-10 overall and 2-6 in ICCAC play with the win. Iowa Central fell to 9-14 and 2-6. Southwestern next hosts DMACC at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Center gymnasium and then hosts Little Priest Tribal College at 4 p.m. Saturday.
