Warren named ICCAC DII men's basketball player of the week

Southwestern sophomore Ryan Warren averaged 19.7 points, 10.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game over three games to earn ICCAC athlete of the week honors for DII men's basketball for the week of Feb. 4-10.

Southwestern sophomore Ryan Warren was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference's athlete of the week in DII men's basketball for the week of Feb. 4-10.

Warren, a 5-8 point guard from St. Louis, Missouri, averaged a double-double over three conference games during the course of the week. Warren averaged 19.7 points per game and 10.0 assists per game, while also grabbing 4.0 rebounds per game. He posted a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio during the three league games.

Warren began the week with 10 points and eight assists in a 104-97 win over Iowa Central Community College on Feb. 4. He exploded for 31 points and 12 assists in a 105-102 win over DMACC on Feb. 6, in which he shot 5 of 8 from behind the 3-point arc. Warren capped the week with his most complete game of the three-game homestand, posting 18 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and three steals in a 96-83 win over Little Priest Tribal College on Feb. 9, finishing just two rebounds shy of a triple-double. The Spartan floor general shot a perfect 10 of 10 from the free throw line for the week.

Warren is averaging 12.0 points per game for the season and is shooting 35.0 percent from behind the 3-point arc. He leads the ICCAC DII with 5.7 assists per game and ranks fourth in the conference with 2.6 assists to every turnover.
