The Southwestern men's basketball team continues to show improvement under head coach, Devin Kastrup. The Spartan men had a 16-point lead at halftime, but were short-handed and ran out of gas at the close. "We were short handed tonight," discusses Kastrup, "but we came out and absolutely battled. They truly left everything they had on the floor - and I can't ask for anything more. I am very proud of our team."

A few fouls with 5:00 left in the game gave the Reivers a 76-71 lead. While the Spartans battled back to get the game within two points, a few clutch three-pointers sealed the victory for the Reivers. "We have some things to clean up and we have to figure out how to make plays at the end of close games," says Kastrup.

The Spartans were led by James Kelley and his double-double performance, 27 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

Southwestern will look to defend the home court over a Thanksgiving break as the Pirates from North Central Missouri College come to town on Saturday, Nov 30 at 3:00 p.m.
