In the culminating game of the New Year's Tournament on December 30, 2023, the Southwestern Community College Spartans' men's basketball team showcased their prowess on the court, securing a resounding victory against Minnesota North College-Hibbing with a final score of 82-49.

The Spartans dominated both halves of the game, displaying exceptional teamwork and individual performances. Joseph Bell led the scoring with an impressive 21 points, showcasing his shooting accuracy with 7-10 field goals, including 4 three-pointers. Patrick Worrell contributed significantly with a double-double, tallying 18 points and securing 12 rebounds.

The team's overall performance was marked by stellar shooting percentages, with a 50.8% field goal rate, and 31.0% from beyond the arc. The Spartans' defense was equally noteworthy, limiting Minnesota North College-Hibbing to a 35.1% field goal percentage.
