Creston, IA – Southwestern Community College is proud to announce its hosting of the Division II Men's Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2009. The tournament, featuring four nationally-ranked teams, promises an exciting display of athleticism and skill as teams compete for the NJCAA Division II National Championship.

The Southwestern Spartans, entering the tournament as the 6 seed, are gearing up to face off against the #10 nationally-ranked Kirkwood Eagles. Despite facing formidable competition, the Spartans are determined to make their mark on the tournament and showcase their talent on the national stage.

This season has seen the Spartans engage in intense competition, with both regular-season games against Kirkwood resulting in losses. However, Coach Sweany and his team are prepared to leverage their strengths and adapt their strategies for a different outcome in the tournament. Having home-court advantage may bode well in favor of the Spartans.

• Patrick Worrell (#5): With impressive stats including 14 points and 9 rebounds in the most recent game against the Eagles, Worrell's performance will be pivotal for the Spartans.
