Southwestern Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Darryl Fletcher is pleased to announce the 2024-25 schedule featuring 13 home games in Spartan gymnasium.

Entering his first season as the head man for the Spartans, Fletcher has assembled a competitive non-conference schedule that will prepare the Spartans for a grueling Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) slate.

Southwestern returns two players from last season with Donnary Fontenot leading the way. Fontenot averaged 5.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game last season. Joining Fontenot, will be point guard James Braddy. Last season, Braddy averaged 5.4 points and 1.9 assists per game.

The Spartans open their season on the road, Saturday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. They will take on NJCAA Division 2 Southeast (Neb.).

The Spartans then travel to Overland Park, Kansas, on Nov. 8-9 to play in the Johnson County Classic. They will play NJCAA 15th-ranked Johnson County on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m., after competing against Highland Community College of Kansas, on Friday, Nov. 8. The Spartans will then head to Trenton, Missouri, where they will take on perennial NJCAA Division 2 powerhouse North Central Missouri on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The Spartans will be on the road again for a contest with Graceland JV on Friday, Nov. 15.

Fans will have the opportunity to see the Spartans for three straight home games beginning Saturday, Nov. 23, when they take on ranked Kansas City Kansas. On Tuesday, Nov. 26, they will host Neosho County, and then they will host their first ICCAC game against DMACC on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Spartans travel to Western Iowa Tech on Wednesday, Dec. 4, before playing Graceland JV at home on Friday, Dec. 6. They will play NJCAA 24th-ranked Kansas City Kansas on Dec. 7, at 3 p.m., at Haskell Indian Nations University, before returning to conference play at NIACC on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Then it's back home to play 7th-ranked Ellsworth on Saturday, Dec. 14. The Spartans will be on the road again for a contest with Iowa Western on Wednesday, Dec. 18, and then the New Year's Classic at Minnesota West vs. Minnesota West (Dec. 30) and Minnesota North (Dec. 31).

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they host 13th-ranked Iowa Lakes. Their remaining January games include Jan. 8 at Northeast, Jan. 11 vs. Kirkwood, Jan. 16 vs. DCTC, Jan. 18 at Iowa Central, Jan. 22 vs NIACC, and Jan. 25 at DMACC.

The month of February starts with the Spartans hosting Iowa Central. They will be in Spartan gymnasium on Feb. 5 to take on Northeast. Their remaining February games include Feb. 8 at Iowa Lakes, Feb. 12 vs. Western Iowa Tech, Feb. 19 at Kirkwood, Feb. 22 at Ellsworth, and Feb. 26 vs. Iowa Western.

The ICCAC Region 11 tournament takes place March 1, 5, and 8 at the highest remaining seed.
