The Southwestern men's golf team hosted the men's War at the Moor in perfect fall golf conditions. The Spartans hosted 25 golfers from four different schools. Indian Hills, ranked #5 in the country in the final NJCAA Division I poll before COVID-19 haulted play in the Spring, dominated the competition and set tournament-records as a team and individually.
The Spartans were led by Freshman, Ethan Brumbaugh, and his T-12 finish. "Ethan learned today that he has the ability to compete with anybody," says head coach Doug North. "There are some small details to fine-tune, but it is fall golf and that is to expected. He will be in hot-pursuit of school records soon."
Rounding out the scores for Southwestern were Sophomore, Harrison Galea, and Freshman, Zayne Osborn, shooting a pair of 83's in a T15 finish. The final score for Southwestern was from Freshman, Hayden Green, who shot a much-improved 93. "Hayden will continue to drop. He will consistently be shooting career-lows soon. He works hard, and that hard-work will pay off."
"Seeing two players grind out another hour-plus on the range after shows our grit and desire, that is what will show the continual improvement."
