Southwestern Community College Welcomes Golfer Freddie Muggeridge to the Spartans Team

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) is thrilled to announce the addition of golf sensation Freddie Muggeridge to the Spartans Golf Team for the 2024 season. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Muggeridge brings an impressive record of achievements, showcasing his prowess on the golf course.

In the recent Carnoustie Junior Open, Muggeridge secured a remarkable third-place finish in the highly competitive 2023 competition. Notably, he made history a few years ago by not only participating in the EuroPro Competition at the young age of 16 but also emerging as the leading amateur player, demonstrating his exceptional talent and future potential.

Muggeridge, a member of the esteemed West Sussex Golf Club, has been making waves in the golfing community with his lowest round to date standing at an impressive 68 at the West Sussex Golf Club in the UK. Under the mentorship of renowned coaches Jack Halsey at Seaford College and Clive Tucker, recognized as one of Europe's most sought-after teaching professionals, Muggeridge is poised for a successful journey in golf.

SWCC Golf Team's Head Coach Doug North expressed excitement about Muggeridge joining the team, stating, "Freddie is the game-changer that the golf team needs. He will step foot on campus and be a leader from day one. His golf maturity is already very noticeable, and he will be a great addition to the team."

With aspirations to play professionally at the highest level, Muggeridge's decision to join SWCC reflects his commitment to excellence. He aims to make history at SWCC by becoming the first golfer on the All-American wall and aspires to lead the team as its captain.
