Southwestern Community College is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Spartan golf team, Elliot Lorentzon, a highly talented and ambitious golfer hailing from Sweden. Lorentzon's commitment to joining the Spartans in the fall of 2024 adds an exciting international flair to the team.

When asked about his commitment to the Spartan golf team, Lorentzon expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I am very excited to become a part of the Spartans in the fall of 2024. To get this chance from Coach North feels great, and I am more than ready to go out there and help the team write history and take home the biggest titles to SWCC!"

Lorentzon brings an impressive list of achievements to the team. Since the age of 16, he has been a prominent figure on the Swedish junior tours, earning a spot on the junior elite team. Notably, he won the qualifier for the PGA Junior Pro Am tournament with a remarkable -1 score and holds the title of the ninth-best youth born in 2005 in the southern region of Sweden.

His home course is Haninge golf course, where he received guidance from accomplished coaches such as Pontus Stjärnfeldt, Adam Adolfsson, and Carl Fredrik Järrel. Lorentzon's goals in his golf career include making a living playing professional golf, and he sees SWCC as the ideal environment to jump start these aspirations.

"I searched for a college where I could get the best opportunities to develop my golf to the next level but also to grow as a person and player. The environment that SWCC, the golf team, and Coach North offer is incredible," Lorentzon explained when asked about choosing the Spartan program.

Inspired by golfers like Vincent Norrman, Ludvig Åberg, and Alex Norén, Lorentzon aims to contribute to the team's success through both his golf skills and positive energy. As he joins the Spartan team, he is most excited about getting to know new people and starting his college career. "It feels like I am taking a big step closer to my dream and, of course, to be a part of the Spartan team!" he concluded.

Southwestern Community College welcomes Elliot Lorentzon to the Spartan family and looks forward to seeing his contributions on the golf course in the upcoming season.
