Muggeridge Earns PING All-Region Honors, Becomes Southwestern’s First Selection Since 2019

Freddie Muggeridge

Creston, IA — Southwestern Community College freshman Freddie Muggeridge has been named to the 2025 NJCAA Division II PING All-Region North Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Muggeridge becomes the first Spartan to receive this honor since Reinhardt Saunderson was recognized in 2019.

Muggeridge's selection places him among the top NJCAA Division II golfers in the northern region, highlighting his consistency and high-level performance throughout the 2024–25 season. The England native contributed significantly to Southwestern's strong showings this year, helping the Spartans remain competitive against some of the region's top programs.

"Freddie has been a steady leader for us all season," said Head Coach Doug North. "He's worked hard to put himself in this position, and it's gratifying to see him recognized on a national level."

The GCAA honors standout players from across the country through its annual PING All-Region and All-America selections. Muggeridge was one of 15 student-athletes chosen for the North Region team, joining players from nationally ranked programs such as Heartland, Parkland, and Kirkwood.

Muggeridge's inclusion not only adds to his individual résumé but also marks a meaningful milestone for Southwestern's golf program. His recognition breaks a five-year absence from the PING All-Region list for the Spartans and reflects the continued development of talent under the program's current leadership.

PING, a long-standing partner of the GCAA, sponsors the All-America and All-Region awards annually. Founded in 1959, the Arizona-based company is known worldwide for its golf club innovations and contributions to the sport.
