Following the Region XI Indoor Championships held Feb. 15-16 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, three Southwestern Spartan track and field athletes were named to the Region XI All-Region teams.

Phillip Selmer, a sophomore from Beloit, Wisconsin, earned second-team all-region honors in the 600 meter run. Selmer posted a time of 1:24.05 in the event.

For the Spartan women, Jaida Claussen and Heather Jessen both received honorable mention on the all-region teams.

Claussen, a freshman from Greenfield, received honorable mention in the 1,000 meters. Claussen ran a time of 3:10.43 for the 1,000 meters.

Jessen, a sophomore from Baxter, received honorable mention in the 3,000 meters. Jessen's time for the event was 12:22.09.
