Weinkoetz Earns All-Region Honors for Spartans Men’s Track & Field

Jedd Weinkoetz

Creston, IA – Southwestern Community College sophomore Jedd Weinkoetz has been recognized as an All-Region performer following his standout effort in the Men's Javelin at the 2025 Region XI Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted last weekend.

Competing against the top talent in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), Weinkoetz secured honorable mention honors in the event, finishing just behind Iowa Western's Gabriel Ortiz and Max Scheef. Ortiz's record-breaking throw of 63.45 meters led the field, but Weinkoetz's performance earned the Spartans a critical point in a deep and competitive field dominated by nationally ranked programs.

"Jedd has been working hard all season and continues to develop into a reliable scorer for our team," said Head Coach Scott Vicker. "He held his own in one of the strongest javelin fields the region has seen in recent years."

Weinkoetz's recognition marks a significant achievement for a Southwestern program competing in one of the most challenging regions in NJCAA track & field. His consistency and improvement throughout the season have positioned him as a key contributor for the Spartans moving forward.

The 2025 Region XI meet once again highlighted the depth of competition, with Iowa Western claiming its fourth consecutive regional team title, led by 11 event victories. Though team scoring was dominated by powerhouse programs, Weinkoetz's performance underscores the growth and resilience within the Southwestern program.
