Southwestern Community College Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Scott Vicker announced the recent signing of Jacob Driskill for the upcoming cross country and track & field seasons.

Driskill is a May 2024 graduate of East Union High School. He was a state qualifier in both cross country and track for the Eagles, competing in the 800 meters at May's Iowa state meet. Driskill finished 54th in Class 1A at the Iowa State Cross Country Championships with a time of 17:43.6. He owns a PR of 2:04.65 in the 800 meters and 4:57.92 in the 1,600 meters. He was also a member of National Honor Society at East Union High School.

"Jacob joins a strong group of mid-distance runners we have coming in for the fall," said Vicker. "I think he has a lot of potential working with that group and having people to chase every day in practice. His experience on the cross country course will be big for us, as well. I expect him to play an important role for us both in the fall cross country season, as well as in the mid-distance events in track."

Driskill is the son of Jason and Ronda Driskill of Creston.
