Southwestern Community College is preparing for a new era of softball with the announcement of a head coach, Paige Cassady of Tennessee, who will replace Lindsay Stumpff, coach of the Spartan softball program for the past 10 years.

Cassady comes to Southwestern from Franklin, TN, where she has most recently been employed as the assistant operations manager for A-Game Sportsplex. She played collegiate softball for Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, for the 2013-14 season and Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN, from August 2011-May 2013. At Volunteer State, she was named as an All-American her sophomore year and All-Region for catching her sophomore year. She hit third in the nation, with a batting average of .509, her sophomore year. Cassady was All-Region for academics at both institutions and was captain of her team during her sophomore year.

She earned an associate degree from Volunteer State Community College in August 2013 and a bachelor's degree in leisure, sport, and tourism studies from Middle Tennessee State University in August 2015.

In addition to her coaching duties, Cassady will be a residence hall coordinator in Southwestern's student housing department. She will begin recruiting for the softball program immediately.
