Creston, IA—Southwestern Community College Head Softball Coach Nick Weinmeister headed south to Missouri, picking up all-conference softball standout Brylee Kemper, the second student-athlete to commit to his 2019 recruiting class.

Kemper, who will graduate from Mid-Buchanan High School in Saint Joseph, MO, in May 2019, signed a National Letter of Intent for Weinmeister and the Spartans of Southwestern on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018.

Weinmeister is excited to see how Kemper's softball career unfolds at the collegiate level.

"First and foremost, Brylee is a high character individual and has the internal drive to succeed on and off the field," Weinmeister stated. "Not only will she bring great energy to our team, but her play will speak for itself when she dons that Spartan uniform next season."

Kemper, a two-sport student-athlete in high school, has been named first team all-conference KCI, second team all-conference KCI, and honorable mention all-conference for softball during the past three years respectively. She has also received first team all-region, second-team all-district, and KMZU Dream Team honors in basketball. She was a starter on Mid-Buchanan's state runner-up basketball team.

In addition to athletics, Kemper excels academically receiving academic all-state softball honors and serving as a member of the National Honor Society.

Weinmeister is proud to have a student-athlete of this caliber joining his team.

"I think the future is very bright for Brylee at Southwestern and beyond," Weinmeister said.

Kemper is the daughter of Bryce and Brandi Kemper of Saint Joseph, MO.
