Spartans gain Canadian pitcher

Jenna Parfeniuk

Southwestern Community College Head Coach Nick Weinmeister announced Jenna Parfeniuk, a pitcher hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Southwestern Spartans next year.

Parfeniuk will graduate high school in June 2019 from Garden City Collegiate. She becomes the third student-athlete in Weinmeister's 2019 recruiting class to come to Southwestern from Canada.

"We are excited to add Jenna to our rapidly growing 2019 class and know she will be a great addition both academically and athletically," Weinmester said. "Jenna will come in focusing her efforts on pitching and becoming that dominant arm we need in the circle."

Weinmeister stated he anticipates Parfeniuk will make an immediate impact for the Spartans.

"Jenna has a huge upside and will come in looking to earn a lot of innings right away," Weinmeister explained. "I can't wait to see what her future holds."

Parfeniuk is the daughter of Christine and Garth Parfeniuk of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
