GRACE COTTON FRESH. | DP SOUTHWESTERN

Southwestern didn't lose a game this week and Grace Cotton's performance in the batter's box was an important reason for the Spartan's success. The freshman hit .667 in four games and also got on base two more times via the walk. She scored eight of the ten times she reached base with the help of teammates. But she was also able to help herself out by hitting three home runs and driving in eight RBIs. Cotton can keep things going this weekend when the undefeated Spartans play at Kansas City Kansas.

Thayda Houser, Southwestern's freshman hurler, was able to take care of business for the Spartans when she was in the circle this week. Houser pitched eleven innings and had 15 strikeouts in two wins for the Spartans against East Central and North Arkansas. In the game against North Arkansas she pitched seven innings and struck out 11 batters.
