Creston, IA—Cora Ostrem of Adel signed a National Letter of Intent recently to play softball for the Spartans of Southwestern Community College during the teams' 2023-24 run.

With the addition of Ostrem, Danny Jensen, Southwestern head softball coach, gains help on the mound.

"Cora is a hard-throwing right-handed pitcher and an excellent outfielder as well," said Jensen. "She will bring us a great deal of experience in multiple positions next season."

Ostrem, who will graduate from ADM High School in May 2023, has been a softball letter winner during high school and has been named academic all-conference for softball. In addition to softball, Ostrem is a member of the bowling team. She has played softball for the Alliance Select Iowa travel organization for a few years and also plays for Category 5 organization in Topeka, Kansas.

She is the daughter of Charleen and Jason Ostrem of Adel.
