Southwestern Spartans Split Doubleheader Against Allen County: Spartans Drop Game One, Rally to Win Game Two

The Southwestern Spartans faced off against Allen County Community College in a doubleheader on March 12th, resulting in a split decision. The Spartans lost the first game 7-1 but rallied in the second game to claim victory with a score of 11-5.

In game one, despite a strong effort from the Spartan lineup, including standout performances by Ashton Willis with a triple and Kirsten Streeter with multiple hits, the team couldn't secure the win. The final score stood at 7-1 in favor of Allen County.

However, the Spartans bounced back in game two with an impressive display of offense. Freshman pitcher Kirsten Streeter led the charge, securing the win for the team. Streeter's solid performance on the mound was complemented by an outstanding offensive showing, with the Spartan lineup tallying an impressive 13 hits.

Notable contributions came from Ashton Willis, who recorded three hits and three RBI, and Freshman Jayleigh Robins, who blasted a solo home run. The team's resilience and determination were on full display as they secured the 11-5 victory to split the doubleheader.

The Spartans continue their spring break trip with upcoming games against Fort Scott CC, Labette CC, and Moberly Area CC before returning home to face the Ellsworth Panthers on March 19th.
