Creston, Iowa - March 19, 2024 - Southwestern Community College's Spartans softball team dominated in their double-header against the Ellsworth Panthers on March 19, 2024.

In the first game, the Spartans showed their prowess, securing a 7-2 victory over the Panthers. The Southwestern offense displayed strength throughout the game, accumulating 13 hits. Notable performances included Ashton Willis, Jayliegh Robins, and Calie Allen, who each contributed crucial hits to the scoreboard. Pitcher Erika Kruse led the defensive charge, allowing only two runs over seven innings and securing the win for the Spartans.

The second game saw another impressive display from the Spartans as they secured a 5-3 victory over the Panthers. Erika Kruse delivered a stellar performance both at the plate and on the mound, hitting a home run and pitching effectively to help secure the win. Cora Ostrem also played a pivotal role, pitching 6.1 innings and contributing offensively with a double.

The Spartans' victories reflect their dedication and skill on the field. With strong performances from both their offense and defense, they continue to demonstrate their potential in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
