Nebraska student-athlete will bring a wealth of experience to Spartan line-up

Creston, IA—Multi-sport athlete Joslyn Policky of Blair, Nebraska, signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Spartans of Southwestern Community College.

Policky, an all-conference and all-state catcher, has spent time at second base and centerfield as well. She has played in two state softball tournaments, finishing in third place her junior year and as runner-up in 2023. Individually, she has received numerous softball honors including Lincoln Junior Star Class B honorable mention, All-Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) honorable mention, EMC academic all-conference, Nebraska State Colleges multi-activity student award recipient, and Omaha World-Herald Class B honorable mention. In addition, Policky has received numerous awards for basketball and her team was a state basketball contender as well.

A high school varsity letter winner in softball, basketball, and volleyball, she will start her collegiate career at Southwestern during the fall 2024 semester.

"Joslyn is an outstanding hitter and base runner who will bring much leadership and experience to several positions on our team," stated Danny Jensen, Southwestern head softball coach. "She thrives off the field as well, being voted president of her senior class and achieving the honor roll all four years of high school."

Policky has been active in Business Leaders of America and is a member of the Student Senate. She was vice president of her junior class.

Policky will graduate from Blair High School in May 2024. She is the daughter of Joe and Mary Policky of Blair, Nebraska.
