Creston, IA—Outfielder and catcher Caitlynn Eijking of Hilversum, Netherlands, will cross the ocean in August to join the roster for the Spartans of Southwestern Community College in Creston.

Eijking, who will graduate high school from Comenius College in July 2025, is touted as a highly driven and athletic individual who consistently strives for excellence in sports and academics.

According to Danny Jensen, Southwestern head softball coach, Eijking has a wealth of experience playing for top level club teams and in international tournaments. During one of these events, the Babe Ruth tournament, Eijking hit a game-winning walk-off triple with two outs in the last at-bat, securing her team's spot in the semifinals and earning the MVP title for the game.

"Caitlynn is an experienced catcher, but often plays in the outfield as well, which will make her an invaluable resource for our team," stated Jensen. "She has developed leadership qualities and is a great communicator with her teammates on the field. She is excited about the opportunity to play softball in America and we are excited to have her."

She is the daughter of Remco Eijking and Berty Otten of Hilversum, Netherlands.
