Kansas honorable mention all-stater to play Spartan softball

Creston, IA—Madison Shepard, a 2024 Kansas softball honorable mention all-stater who hails from Uniontown, Kansas, will join the Southwestern Community College softball program.

Shepard, of Uniontown, Kansas, graduates from Uniontown High School this month. During high school, in addition to her softball accolades, she was a 2024 wrestling state qualifier and a 2025 third place finisher. Academically, she achieved the A honor roll at her high school and the President’s List at Fort Scott Community College.

Danny Jensen, Southwestern head softball coach, said Shepard’s ability to diversify on the field will make her invaluable to the Spartan team.

“Madison is a true utility player, as she pitches, plays first base, and commands the outfield,” stated Jensen. “She will bring an aggressive running style on the bases. She loves the game and will be a welcome addition to our team.”

Shepard is the daughter of Luke and Samantha Shepard of Uniontown, Kansas.
