Spartans recruit Lisbon pitcher

Creston, IA—The Spartans of Southwestern Community College recently signed four-time all-state pitcher Rileigh Allgood of Lisbon.

Allgood's team has repeatedly been state contenders; therefore, leaning on Allgood's pitching during the 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020 state softball tournaments. She finished her high school career with 817 strikeouts, an ERA below 2.00, and a record of 97-18.

Spartan Head Softball Coach Danny Jensen said Allgood loves the game and was a leader on her high school team.

"Rileigh is a hard-throwing left-handed pitcher," stated Jensen. "She will be a force on the mound and will help us in the outfield as well."

Allgood was named first team all-conference from ninth-12th grades; conference MVP during ninth and 10th grades; first team all-district, 10th-12th grades; second team all-state, ninth grade; first team all-state, 10-12th grade; and was named to the 1A all-tournament team during 10th grade. She was involved in many other extra-curricular activities and has been named to the honor roll each semester of high school.

Allgood, a May 2023 graduate of Lisbon High School, is the daughter of Crystal and Jerry Humphrey of Lisbon.
