Creston, IOWA—Cole Nelson, a senior at East Union High School in Afton, has signed with the Spartan sports shooting program at Southwestern Community College for their 2020-21 season.

During high school, Nelson competed individually in the state high school trap championships, as well as the state high school archery tournament. In addition, Nelson participated in trap, archery, basketball, track, and cross country at his high school.

At Southwestern, Nelson will major in automotive repair technology.

He is the son of Mike and Ressa Nelson of Shannon City.
