Josh Purdy was named the head sports shooting coach for the Spartans in July of 2020.

Purdy is responsible for all technical aspects of Southwestern’s championship-caliber shooting program, including day-to-day activities, practices, and competition. He came to the program with a wealth of professional and recreational shooting experience.

Purdy has coached the Union County Clay Shooters and is very familiar with the High Lakes Outdoor Alliance. He is a frequent shooter in leagues and tournaments. He also volunteers at High Lakes to ensure a smooth and successful shoot for all competitors.

In addition to coaching for Southwestern, Purdy works for John Deere.
