The Kirkwood Eagle women's basketball team entered their matchup at Southwestern ranked #2 in the Nation, and they defended their ranking well. The Eagles defense limited the Spartans scoring in the first three quarters, at most scoring eleven points. The Eagle defense held the SPartans to under 50 points in the matchup.

Sophomore Simone Jordan led the Spartans in scoring 12 points, followed by Kayela Willis and Meghan Allen with 8 each,

Southwestern has three home events left as they look to end the season continuing to climb. The Spartans look to defend the home court against Iowa Lakes Community College on February 12th.
