CRESTON, Iowa – Southwestern Community College is excited to announce the signing of Roslynn Huston, a 5'11 forward from McDonald County High School in Anderson, Missouri, to the Spartans women's basketball program for the Class of 2025.
Huston brings a strong combination of talent, leadership, and academic excellence to the Spartans. During her high school basketball career, she helped lead her team to a conference championship in 2024 and earned honorable mention all-conference honors for two consecutive years. Her accomplishments reflect her dedication to the game and her potential as a key contributor to the Southwestern program.
When asked what led her to choose Southwestern, Huston highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and the vision of the coaching staff. "The atmosphere was great, and everyone was friendly and welcoming," Huston said. "The current players and coaches were particularly great—they were all eager to answer my questions and help me out. I also really appreciate the vision and goals of the coaches, and I'm excited to see how I can contribute to their team's success."
Head Coach Kori Zarzutski expressed enthusiasm about adding Huston to the roster. "I am so excited about Roslynn! She fits great with what we are looking for both on the court and with the intangibles," she said. "She is passionate, wants to learn, and has a skill set that will fit right in."
In addition to her basketball success, Huston has excelled in volleyball, earning her team's Most Improved Player award and being named both an academic all-conference and academic all-state honoree. Off the court, Huston has demonstrated strong leadership skills as a three-year officer in her school's FFA chapter, serving as Secretary this year, and as a member of the National Honor Society.
Huston's combination of athletic ability, leadership, and academic achievements make her a perfect fit for the Spartans women's basketball program. Southwestern is excited to welcome her to the Spartan family and looks forward to her contributions both on and off the court.
Welcome to Spartan Nation, Roslynn!
