Iowa Western won the 2023 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Region Championship with a final score of 270. The Reivers won 13 events, the most out of any team. Iowa Central came in second place, while winning five events and Hawkeye came in third, winning just one event.

Out of those results came the 2023 All-Region performers and the 2023 Outdoor Track Athlete and Field Athlete of the Year.

Miracle Ailes of Iowa Western was awarded the 2023 ICCAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Ailes won the Long Jump competition at the Region 11 Championships with a jump of 6.32 meters and won the High Jump with a height of 1.71 meters. She was just one of the two athletes to finish first in more than one field event. Ailes also took part in an achievement on the track, being a part of the winning 4x100 Meter Relay. Iowa Western won the event with a time of 46.70 seconds.

This season, Ailes broke the NJCAA High Jump record at the Northwest Open with a jump of 1.87 meters. To date, she ranks first in the NJCAA in both jumping events this season. With the award, she swept the Field Athlete of the Year honors for both the Indoor and Outdoor seasons.

The Women's Track Athlete of the Year award went to Adeyah Brewster of Iowa Central.

Brewster took home the gold in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 13.96. She just missed out on another first place finish after finishing in second place in the 100 Meter Dash. Brewster's time was 11.93, which was 0.01 seconds behind Indian Hills Jahzara Hart who finished first. Off the track, Brewster was awarded second in the triple jump and third in long jump.

She posted her best time this season in the 100 Meter Hurdles at the Drake Relays where she ran a 13.85 -- the fourth-best time this season in the NJCAA.

Iowa Western's Marc Bierbaum won Coach of the Year on the Women's side. Known as the Director of Track & Field, Bierbaum helped lead the Reivers to 13 first place finishes in the Region Championship. There were 20 individual Iowa Western athletes who had a top three finish in their events. Iowa Western also won two of the three relay races, the 4x100 and the 4x800.

A notable finisher and All-Region individual; Iowa Western's Tyjah Thompson won both the Javelin Throw and the Hammer Throw. Along with Ailes, Thompson was the only other athlete to finish first in multiple field events. She threw the discus 39.29 meters and in the Hammer Throw threw 43.56 meters.

Paige Condon of Iowa Central also had a great day at the track. She finished first in the Women's Heptathlon with a score of 3942. Later, she placed second in the 400 Meter Hurdles, losing to teammate Saria Oliver by 0.01 seconds.

Another Iowa Western athlete, Ethel Amissah, had a couple notable finishes on the track. Amissah won the 200 Meter Dash with a 24.07 time, just 0.09 seconds ahead of the next runner.
