CRESTON, Iowa—Southwestern Community College Head Volleyball Coach Casey Quiggle continues to build his front row with the addition of Panorama High School middle hitter Brooke Halterman.

Halterman, who stands at 5 feet, 11 inches, signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Southwestern Spartans late last week. She joins hitters Taylor Buxton of Creston and Hanna Gray of Des Moines as new recruits for the Spartans 2019 team. Buxton and Gray signed last week as well.

During high school, Halterman was a second-team all-conference volleyball selection her junior year and a first-team all-conference volleyball selection her senior year. In addition, she was a two-time state track competitor. Academically, she has been named to the honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Quiggle said Halterman's height and athletic abilities will be assets to the Spartans' volleyball program.

"Brooke has a good attack and a strong block," Quiggle said. "She is also able to play all the way around and does a good job passing and playing defense in the back row."

She is the daughter of Brad and Brenda Halterman or Panora.
