Savanna Cox of Troup, TX, has committed to the Spartans of Southwestern Community College for their 2019-20 volleyball season.

Cox, who will graduate from Troup High School in May 2019, is a 5 foot, 9 inch outside hitter. She was named first team all-district for volleyball her senior season. She received second team all-district honors her sophomore and junior seasons. In addition, Cox has excelled academically earning academic all-district honors her junior and senior years; being on the honor roll her junior and senior years; receiving academic all-state honors; and being inducted into the National Honor Society.

Casey Quiggle, Southwestern head volleyball coach, is confident Cox will do a great job as an all around player for his program.

"Savanna sees the court well and is smart with her attacks," stated Quiggle. "Her passing and defense stand out as well; it will be good having her as part of the mix."
