Volleyball Competes in Kansas Tournament

The Spartan volleyball team spent two days at the Highland, Kansas Invitational tournament over the weekend. They went 1-3 on the weekend, picking up the first team win of the 2021-22 Academic Year for the department.

Game one, the Spartans took on the Scotties of Highland Community College and fell 3 sets to 0. In Game two, the Spartans battled with Fort Scott Community college and fell 3 sets to 0. Head coach, Shaela Camp schedules tough opponents to prepare for conference play, "We started out the night playing a tough opponent in Highland who is nationally ranked. The girls came out strong but weren't able to finish."

The Spartans were highlighted by #4 Parker Evans and #14 Deniz Tuncer with 36 digs and 4 aces respectively. In game one, #10 Florence Omodayo amassed 12 digs. In game two, Tuncer had 9 kills and #16 Anyelainy Vizcaino Araujo had 12 digs.

Coach Camp said, " Although the matches didn't end how we would have liked, we saw improvement."
