Southwestern Community College announced today, Taylor Shipley will serve as interim head coach for the Spartan volleyball program for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Shipley joined the Southwestern volleyball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in July 2022.

Shipley served as head volleyball coach of the Rams Juniors Volleyball Club 13U in Altoona from 2019 to 2021 before moving to Creston. Prior to becoming head coach of the club team, she served as assistant coach from 2012 through 2019. In addition to coaching, Shipley works for State Auto Insurance Company as an auto damages adjuster.

Shipley replaces Anna Humburg, who had been at the helm of the Spartan volleyball program since summer 2022.

The Spartans are 2-23 overall and 0-7 in the conference for the 2022 season. The team has two matches remaining, tonight at Hawkeye Community College and next Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Northeast Community College.
