SWCC VOLLEYBALL WELCOMES SKYELAR LAWAL TO THE SPARTANS FAMILY

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Spartans Volleyball proudly announces the signing of standout student-athlete Skyelar Lawal from Miami, Florida, to its esteemed program. Skyelar, a formidable Middle Block player, brings exceptional talent and a commendable work ethic to the team.

Hailing from Nebraska City High School, Skyelar boasts an impressive athletic background, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition for her outstanding performance. With an astounding 141 Solo Blocks, Skyelar's defensive prowess is unmatched, promising to bolster the Spartans' defensive line.

"I picked SWCC because I felt a genuine bond with the campus the second I stepped foot there!" expressed Lawal, highlighting her instant connection with the SWCC environment.

Skyelar Lawal has honed her skills under the mentorship of esteemed coaches, including Coach Alexa Blaine from River City and Coach Cassidy Simmons from Banzi. Coach Simmons, a former SWCC volleyball player herself, praised Skyelar, stating, "Skyelar is a very hard-working lady, who has a real good drive for the sport!"

SWCC Volleyball's Head Coach, Brianna Maitlen, expressed enthusiasm about Skyelar's addition to the team, emphasizing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. "We are thrilled to welcome Skyelar Lawal to the Spartans family," said Coach Maitlen. "Her skill set and determination make her a valuable asset to our program."

In a recent signing ceremony, Skyelar Lawal was joined by her high school coach, Scott-Hill, her father, Adewale Lawal, and SWCC Coach Brianna Maitlen.

The SWCC Spartans eagerly anticipate the upcoming season with Skyelar Lawal on board, confident in her ability to contribute to the team's success.
