Creston, IA – November 14, 2024 — Southwestern Community College (SWCC) is excited to announce the signing of Ivey Dostal, a talented and accomplished volleyball player from Nebraska City High School, who will join the Spartans for the 2025 season. Originally hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, Dostal has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her sport and studies, making her a valuable addition to the Spartan family.
Dostal brings an impressive record of achievements, including earning a varsity letter all four years at Nebraska City. A standout on the court and in the classroom, Dostal also excelled academically as an honor roll student, reflecting the dedication and perseverance she'll bring to Southwestern. Dostal's extensive club volleyball experience includes competing for Code Blue, Highlanders (coached by Cheyenne Birkle), and River City Juniors (coached by Alyssa Schmaller), where she honed her skills and gained invaluable competitive experience.
When asked why she chose Southwestern, Dostal shared, "I chose SWCC because the population is very family-oriented and close. I wanted a place where I could grow, both as a player and as a person."
