Creston native Brianna Maitlen headed home to take over at the helm of Southwestern Community College’s volleyball program beginning with the 2024 season.

Prior to coming to Southwestern, Maitlen, a graduate of Creston High School, had been a middle school counselor and high school volleyball coach for the Sioux City Community School District since 2018.

Maitlen takes great pride in assisting her teams reach their full potential and she enjoys providing them with support, guidance, and motivation.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a minor in coaching and sports psychology in 2016 and a Master of Science degree in education with emphasis on school counseling in 2018, both from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.
